ORDINATION CEREMONY

On December 6th 2009, a very special event took place in St. Joseph’s Redemptorist Church, Dundalk. Cardinal Sean Brady  celebrated Mass and ordained three young men to the Priesthood.

Who are these men?

Sean Duggan, aged 29, is from Galway city. He graduated with a Bachelor of Corporate Law Degree from NUIG. He entered the Redemptorists in 2001. Brian Nolan aged 31, is from Limerick City. He studied at Limerick Institute of Technology, receiving a Diploma in Computer Engineering. He joined the Redemptorists in 2000. Tony Rice aged 31, is from Belfast. He was a Customer Adviser with Abbey National Bank before joining the Redemptorists in 2001.

What is especially noteworthy about these men is their passionate commitment to serve as Priests. Archbishop Dermot Martin, addressing clergy some time ago, stated “We have to rediscover the significance of our ministry. We have to discover passion for our ministry.”

It is a wonderful blessing and a great witness to see three young men committing themselves with passion to this calling in life. May they be instrumental in helping both clergy and people rediscover the significance of this ministry. They will need courage and faith in their journey. Let us support them with our constant prayers.
